Couples Therapy

Nobody Is Fighting. That Is the Problem.

There was a stretch of years when the two of you argued. It was awful and exhausting, but at least it meant something was still at stake.

Somewhere in the past several months, the arguing ended. In its place is a quiet room where two people who used to love each other say nothing.

The world sees a couple who has built a life most people would envy.

Yet you are quietly starving inside.

More Talking Hasn’t Worked

There is a reason. The silence between you is not a missing skill; it stems from protection.

At some point, saying the true thing got expensive, so one of you learned to go quiet a half second before it costs anything, and the other learned to stop asking. Neither of you decided that consciously, and neither of you can undo it by deciding to try harder.

This is the part a weekend workshop or a book about communication cannot reach, and it is exactly where the work I do starts.

The quiet does not resolve on its own.

Seeking Help for a Relationship Usually Isn’t a Quick Decision

Couples usually wait years, and the work is harder at year seven than year three, because by then the silence has become the arrangement.

If you would rather not find out what year ten looks like, book a free 15-minute call. We will talk about what has gone quiet between you and whether this work fits your situation, and I will tell you honestly if it does not.

Start with 15 Minutes on the Phone

Before you commit to anything, you tell me roughly what is going on. I ask a few questions. Then I tell you honestly what I think, including whether I am the right person for it.

If I am not, I will try to point you toward someone who is, and I would rather do that in fifteen minutes than in six weeks. You are also interviewing me.

We will talk about what is not moving, and what it would take to move it.
