Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy

You Have Already Tried the Things That Were Supposed to Work

Two or three medications, maybe more, with weeks of waiting after each one to find out whether that medication does anything. Then the next one.

A stretch of therapy that helped some and then leveled off.

You have been managing this for years rather than moving through it.

And Then You Heard Your Experience Described

Somewhere in all of that, someone used the phrase treatment resistant.

It landed like a verdict.

You heard the phrase.

You aren’t out of effort – you are out of things you haven’t already tried.

The Medicine Opens a Window for the Work to Happen

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy holds the medicine and the psychotherapy inside one process.

A clinic will hand you the medicine and a recliner, and for some people that is enough.

For most it isn’t, because the medicine creates a period of unusual openness ,and you’re alone with it.

Where the Medical Part Ends and Mine Begins

I am KAP-trained through Journey Clinical, whose medical team handles screening, prescribing, and ongoing medical oversight.

This arrangement frees me for the part that is actually mine. That part is psychotherapy, which I was trained to do long before I was trained to do KAP.

Preparing you beforehand, staying with you through the session itself, and doing the integration work afterward, where whatever surfaced gets examined – this is my work.

This Starts with a Conversation, not a Prescription

The first step is a free 15-minute call about what you have already tried and whether KAP is a reasonable direction for you.

If it is, you complete a medical intake with Journey Clinical’s providers, who determine whether you are a candidate and handle the prescribing.

From there, we schedule the preparation sessions, the dosing sessions themselves, and the integration work that follows.

Acoustic Family Therapy is a fully virtual practice for adults across California, reachable at (805) 635-2153.

The Sequence Has a First Step

Start with 15 Minutes on the Phone

Before you commit to anything, you tell me roughly what is going on. I ask a few questions. Then I tell you honestly what I think, including whether I am the right person for it.

If I am not, I will try to point you toward someone who is, and I would rather do that in fifteen minutes than in six weeks. You are also interviewing me.

We will talk about what is not moving, and what it would take to move it.
