Individual Therapy

Nobody Has the Whole Picture
You share different pieces to different people.
Your closest friend has the work version, and your sister has the family version.
The one your partner gets is edited down to what will not worry them. You settle on which version applies before you have finished the first sentence.
Every version is true, and none of them has the whole story.

One Room Where the Whole Thing Gets Said
You are the only person who has ever held all of it at once.
You have been doing that for a long time until it has become a habit.
Therapy is the only relationship built for the unedited version, and something changes when you stop managing what the other person can handle.

The Pace of the Telling
My work is somatic and experiential, which means I am tracking what your body does while you talk, not only the account you are giving.
When something shifts, we slow down and stay there instead of moving on, because that is where the material lives. You will find you have been moving past things at a speed you didn’t know was unusual.
You have been carrying the complete version alone, and there is no prize for how long you manage it.
The Short Call Before the Hour
The first call is free and runs 15 minutes. Tell me as much or as little as you want on it and ask whatever you need to ask.
I will tell you honestly whether I am the right person for what you are carrying, and if I am not, I will point you toward someone who is.
The work is fully virtual with adults anywhere in California. The work is set up over the phone at (805) 635-2153.
Start with 15 Minutes on the Phone
Before you commit to anything, you tell me roughly what is going on. I ask a few questions. Then I tell you honestly what I think, including whether I am the right person for it.
If I am not, I will try to point you toward someone who is, and I would rather do that in fifteen minutes than in six weeks. You are also interviewing me.
We will talk about what is not moving, and what it would take to move it.
